The Micro Enterprise Project
The Micro Entreprises Training Program
- Since the inception of Les Pecheurs Madagascar (LPM), our Micro Enterprise Training Program has been at the heart of our mission to empower individuals by fostering entrepreneurial skills and providing financial support. This program has transformed lives, enabling participants to establish and grow their small businesses, creating long-lasting impacts across Madagascar.
- Candidates from all walks of life apply for admission to the LPM MicroEntreprise Training Course.
- There are two intakes of candidates started each 6 months.
- They are required to attend our National Training Centre in Antananarivo (The Capital of Madagascar) a day a week for 6 months.
- Over the 6 months period they undertake 26 units of small business training based on an « Experiential Learning Model » which requires them to complete weekly assignments related to what they have been taught at their latest training session.
- An integral component of the course is the requirement for each candidate to progressively develop a 5 Year Business Plan using a template developed by Les Pecheurs.
- At the end of the 26 weeks, each candidate should have completed a 5 Year Business Plan for their proposed business.
- The staff and directors of Les Pecheurs review each candidate’s Plan and if deemed to be viable and achievable they are given an interest free loan of between AUD $250 and $500.
- These loans are provided by sponsors (Friends of Les Pecheurs) and once the money is repaid, it is used to support other candidates thus becoming a rolling gift for the original donor of the funds.
- Every three months, our LPM staff meet with the candidates to review their progress against their Business Plan and give advice and encouragement as appropriate.
- We have over 500 graduates whose lives have benefited from this Program.
